The crowd at Thursday's non-league battle between the Sigourney Savages (Sigourney, IA) and the host Davis County Mustangs (Bloomfield, IA), saw Sigourney's baseball team beat Davis County by a margin of 8-0.

The Savages (7-0) will now prepare for their battle against Colfax-Mingo (Colfax, IA). The Tigerhawks enter the South Iowa Cedar battle with a 1-5 record. In their last battle, Colfax-Mingo was overwhelmed by North Mahaska (New Sharon, IA), 13-1, in a league battle.

Next, the Mustangs face the Chariton Chargers (Chariton, IA) in a South Central battle, on Friday, June 6. Davis County will attempt to improve on its 5-7 season record. The Chargers enter the battle with a 8-2 record after their 8-2 league win over Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont (Eddyville, IA).
