The Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union Royals (Marcus, IA) softball routed the visiting Central Lyon Lions (Rock Rapids, IA), 8-0 in Thursday's non-league outing.

The Royals now sport a 6-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Akron-Westfield for a War Eagle outing on Friday, June 6. Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union will encounter a Westerners team coming off a 9-1 league win over Gehlen Catholic (Le Mars, IA). The Westerners record now stands at 4-0.

With the loss, Central Lyon moves to 2-5 on the season. The Lions travel to Sheldon (Sheldon, IA) to encounter the Orabs in a Siouxland outing on Friday, June 6. The Orabs come into the outing with a record of 0-4. Sheldon lost 15-7 in their recent non-league outing against South O'Brien (Paullina, IA)
