The Kingsley-Pierson Panthers got by the visiting Maple Valley-Anthon-Oto Rams softball squad by a count of 6-5 in Monday's non-league battle.
The Panthers (5-2) will now prepare for their battle against Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union (Marcus, IA). The Royals go into the non-league battle with a 4-1 record. In their last battle, Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union was edged by Hinton (Hinton, IA), 4-3, in a non-league battle.
The Rams now sport a 6-4 record. They play next when they travel to West Monona for a non-league battle on Tuesday, June 7. Maple Valley-Anthon-Oto will meet a Spartans squad coming off a 4-3 non-league loss to Ridge View (Holstein, IA). The Spartans record now stands at 4-3.
