West Liberty Comets (West Liberty, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Wilton Beavers (Wilton, IA), 9-5 in a league challenge.

The Comets now own a 7-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Tipton for a non-league challenge on Monday, June 10.

With the loss, Wilton falls to 8-5 on the campaign. The Beavers travel to Calamus-Wheatland (Wheatland, IA) to face the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Saturday, June 8. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 9-6. Calamus-Wheatland lost 4-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Edgewood-Colesburg (Edgewood, IA)
