The crowd at Friday's league battle between the West Monona Spartans (Onawa, IA) and the host Westwood Rebels (Sloan, IA), saw West Monona's baseball team gain a win over Westwood by a tally of 5-3.

The Spartans (2-5) will now prepare for their battle against Cherokee Washington (Cherokee, IA). The Braves enter the non-league battle with a 1-5 record. In their last battle, Cherokee Washington by Sioux Central (Sioux Rapids, IA), 15-5, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Rebels face the Woodbury Central Wildcats (Moville, IA) in a Western Valley battle, on Wednesday, June 11. Westwood will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Wildcats enter the battle with a 3-5 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Storm Lake (Storm Lake, IA).
