Centerville Big Reds/Redettes (Centerville, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Cardinal Comets (Eldon, IA), 12-10 in a league challenge.

The Big Reds/Redettes now own a 7-4 record. They take the field next when they host Albia for a South Central challenge on Monday, June 10. Centerville will battle a Blue Demons squad coming off a 3-2 league loss to Chariton (Chariton, IA). The Blue Demons record now stands at 5-6.

With the loss, Cardinal falls to 8-5 on the campaign. The Comets travel to Fairfield (Fairfield, IA) to battle the Trojans in a non-league challenge on Saturday, June 8. The Trojans enter the challenge with a record of 2-7. Fairfield lost 10-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Central Lee (Donnellson, IA)
