The crowd at Friday's non-league match between the Mount Ayr Raiders (Mount Ayr, IA) and the visiting Nodaway Valley Wolverines (Greenfield, IA), saw Mount Ayr's softball squad nip Nodaway Valley by a count of 8-7.

The Raiders now sport a 5-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bondurant-Farrar for a non-league match on Saturday, June 8. Mount Ayr will face a Bluejays squad coming off a 8-1 non-league win over Creston (Creston, IA). The Bluejays record now stands at 14-2.

With the loss, Nodaway Valley falls to 0-3 on the campaign. The Wolverines host Bedford (Bedford, IA) to face the Bulldogs in a Pride of Iowa match on Tuesday, June 11. The Bulldogs enter the match with a record of 4-4.
