The Denison-Schleswig Monarchs softball team scored 7 runs and held the host Storm Lake Tornadoes to 5 in the Monarchs non-league win on Saturday.

The Monarchs now sport a 3-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Creston for a Hawkeye 10 battle on Monday, June 9. Denison-Schleswig will confront a Panthers team coming off a 11-1 non-league loss to Ames (Ames, IA). The Panthers record now stands at 9-4.

With the loss, Storm Lake moves to 6-2 on the season. The Tornadoes host Cherokee Washington (Cherokee, IA) to confront the Braves in a Lakes battle on Monday, June 9. The Braves come into the battle with a record of 2-5. Cherokee Washington lost 6-3 in their recent non-league battle against West Monona (Onawa, IA)
