The Hudson Pirates softball team scored 16 runs and held the visiting Grundy Center Spartans to 4 in the Pirates non-league win on Saturday.

The Pirates now sport a 6-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Aplington-Parkersburg for a North Iowa Cedar - Central battle on Monday, June 9. Hudson will confront a Falcons team coming off a 9-5 non-league win over B-G-M (Brooklyn, IA). The Falcons record now stands at 1-5.

With the loss, Grundy Center moves to 4-3 on the season. The Spartans host Dike-New Hartford (Dike, IA) to confront the Wolverines in a non-league battle on Monday, June 9. The Wolverines come into the battle with a record of 6-3. Dike-New Hartford won 8-6 in their recent non-league battle against Central DeWitt (DeWitt, IA)
