New Lothrop Hornets (New Lothrop, MI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lakeville Falcons (Otisville, MI), 7-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 26-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Clare for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, June 11. New Lothrop will face a Pioneers squad coming off a 8-2 non-league win over Standish-Sterling (Standish, MI). The Pioneers record now stands at 36-5.

With the defeat, Lakeville drops to 38-5 on the year.
