The Mason City Mohawks softball team scored 8 runs and restricted the visiting Roosevelt Roughriders to 5 in the Mohawks non-league victory on Monday.

The Mohawks (12-16) will now prepare for their bout against Humboldt (Humboldt, IA). The Wildcats go into the non-league bout with a 11-16 record. In their last bout, Humboldt tipped Iowa Falls-Alden (Iowa Falls, IA), 10-0, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Roughriders battle the Saydel Eagles (Des Moines, IA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, July 3. Roosevelt will attempt to advance on its 10-10 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 13-11 record after their 7-1 non-league loss to Bondurant-Farrar (Bondurant, IA).
