In Wednesday's league game, the host South Central Calhoun Titans baseball team scored a close 5-3 win over the Newell-Fonda Mustangs.
The Titans (8-10) will now prepare for their game against Odebolt Arthur Battle Creek Ida Grove (Ida Grove, IA). The Falcons go into the non-league game with a 10-4 record. In their last game, Odebolt Arthur Battle Creek Ida Grove nudged Ridge View (Holstein, IA), 9-5, in a league game.
Next, the Mustangs play the Woodbury Central Wildcats (Moville, IA) in a non-league game, on Wednesday, July 2. Newell-Fonda will attempt to improve on its 9-12 season record. The Wildcats go into the game with a 11-9 record after their 4-3 non-league loss to Underwood (Underwood, IA).
