The Defenders now sport a 18-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Maquoketa Valley for a non-league battle on Wednesday, July 9. Marquette will confront a Wildcats team coming off a 3-2 league loss to Edgewood-Colesburg (Edgewood, IA). The Wildcats record now stands at 21-12.

With the loss, Alburnett moves to 26-11 on the season. The Pirates host Grundy Center (Grundy Center, IA) to confront the Spartans in a non-league battle on Wednesday, July 9. The Spartans come into the battle with a record of 18-9.
