In Wednesday's league test, the Clarinda Cardinals (Clarinda, IA) softball squad got by the visiting Denison-Schleswig Monarchs (Denison, IA), by a tally of 8-7.

Next, the Cardinals clash with the Creston Panthers (Creston, IA) in a Hawkeye 10 test, on Thursday, July 3. Clarinda will attempt to advance on its 22-10 season record. The Panthers go into the test with a 26-6 record after their 9-0 league win over St. Albert (Council Bluffs, IA).

The Monarchs (9-16) will now prepare for their test against Kuemper (Carroll, IA). The Knights go into the Hawkeye 10 test with a 10-16 record. In their last test, Kuemper was nudged by Logan-Magnolia (Logan, IA), 7-5, in a non-league test.
