In Wednesday's non-league test, the West Marshall Trojans (State Center, IA) softball squad got by the visiting Newton Cardinals (Newton, IA), by a count of 3-2.
Next, the Trojans meet the Grundy Center Spartans (Grundy Center, IA) in a non-league test, on Thursday, July 3. West Marshall will attempt to upgrade on its 21-9 season record.
The Cardinals (8-19) will now prepare for their test against East Marshall (Le Grand, IA). The Mustangs go into the non-league test with a 23-9 record. In their last test, East Marshall held off South Hardin (Eldora, IA), 17-0, in a league test.
