Gilbert Tigers (Gilbert, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Boone Toreadors (Boone, IA), 4-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 16-13 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mason City for a non-league challenge on Saturday, July 8. Gilbert will face a Mohawks squad coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Webster City (Webster City, IA). The Mohawks record now stands at 14-15.

With the loss, Boone moves to 14-16 on the season. The Toreadors travel to Carlisle (Carlisle, IA) to meet the Wildcats in a non-league battle on Monday, July 3. The Wildcats go into the battle with a record of 28-5.
