In Thursday's league match, the host Crestwood Cadets softball team scored a nice 10-2 win over the Charles City Comets.

The Cadets (17-6) will now prepare for their match against Sumner-Fredericksburg (Sumner, IA). The Cougars come into the non-league match with a 15-10 record. In their last match, Sumner-Fredericksburg was routed by Wapsie Valley (Fairbank, IA), 5-1, in a league match.

In their next game, the Comets battle the Decorah-North Winneshiek Vikings (Decorah, IA) in a Northeast Iowa match, on Tuesday, July 8. Charles City will attempt to better on its 14-14 season record. The Vikings come into the match with a 14-11 record after their 10-2 non-league loss to North Linn (Troy Mills, IA).
