Wapsie Valley Warriors (Fairbank, IA) backers left the game pleased Thursday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougars (Sumner, IA), 5-1 in a league game.

With the triumph, Wapsie Valley upgrades its record to 26-4 on the year. The Warriors travel to Don Bosco (Gilbertville, IA) to play the Dons in a non-league game on Thursday, July 3. The Dons enter the game with a record of 15-12.

The Cougars now own a 15-10 record. They play next when they travel to Crestwood for a non-league game on Monday, July 7. Sumner-Fredericksburg will play a Cadets squad coming off a 10-2 league win over Charles City (Charles City, IA). The Cadets record now stands at 17-6.
