In Monday's non-league challenge, the visiting Patton Panthers volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Freedom Patriots.

The Panthers (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Spartans come into the non-league challenge with a 1-0 record. In their last challenge, South Caldwell edged West Caldwell (Lenoir, NC), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Patriots face the Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC) in a non-league test, on Wednesday, August 13. Freedom will attempt to advance on its 0-1 season record. The Panthers go into the test with a 0-1 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to St. Stephens (Hickory, NC).
