Dublin Fighting Irish (Dublin, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Johnson County Trojans (Wrightsville, GA), 7-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Fighting Irish now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Jefferson County for a 1A D-I Region 2 challenge on Tuesday, August 15. Dublin will battle a Warriors squad coming off a 9-1 non-league win over Burke County (Waynesboro, GA). The Warriors record now stands at 2-4.

With the loss, Johnson County moves to 0-1 on the season. The Trojans travel to St. Vincent's (Savannah, GA) to face the Saints in a non-league match on Thursday, August 10. The Saints go into the match with a record of 2-1. St. Vincent's won 2-1 in their recent non-league match against Claxton (Claxton, GA)
