Menifee County Wildcats (Frenchburg, KY) boosters exited the stadium pleased Tuesday as they witnessed their soccer team knock off the visiting Powell County Pirates (Stanton, KY), 3-0 in a non-league outing.

The Wildcats (1-0) will now prepare for their outing against Russell (Russell, KY). The Red Devils go into the non-league outing with a 1-1 record. In their last outing, Russell got by East Jessamine (Nicholasville, KY), 6-0, in a non-league outing.

Next up, the Pirates confront the Johnson Central Golden Eagles (Paintsville, KY) in a non-league test, on Thursday, August 14. Powell County will attempt to advance on its 0-1 season record. The Golden Eagles come into the test with a 1-0 record after their 8-0 non-league win over Letcher County Central (Whitesburg, KY).
