Southern Durham Spartans (Durham, NC) supporters were in high spirits Tuesday as they observed their volleyball team top the visiting Hillside Hornets (Durham, NC), 2-0 in a non-league contest.

The Spartans (1-1) will now prepare for their contest against Jordan (Durham, NC). The Falcons enter the non-league contest with a 0-2 record. In their last contest, Jordan was knocked off by Ravenscroft (Raleigh, NC), 2-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Hornets battle the Durham School of the Arts Bulldogs (Durham, NC) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, August 15. Hillside will attempt to move on its 0-1 season record. The Bulldogs enter the contest with a 0-1 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Riverside-Durham (Durham, NC).
