The Preston Pirates softball team scored 16 runs and held the host Mounds Golden Eagles to 1 in the Pirates non-league win on Tuesday.

The Pirates now possess a 2-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Latta for a non-league battle on Thursday, August 15. Preston will confront a Panthers team coming off a 1-0 non-league win over Wilson (Wilson, OK). The Panthers record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Mounds moves to 0-2 on the season. The Golden eagles travel to Caney Valley (Ramona, OK) to confront the Trojans in a non-league battle on Thursday, August 15. The Trojans come into the battle with a record of 0-1. Caney Valley lost 11-9 in their recent non-league battle against Oklahoma Union (South Coffeyville, OK)
