The crowd at Wednesday's non-league bout between the Oglethorpe County Patriots (Lexington, GA) and the visiting Clarke Central Gladiators (Athens, GA), observed Oglethorpe County's softball team get by Clarke Central by a tally of 5-0.
The Patriots (3-0) will now prepare for their contest against Jasper County (Monticello, GA). The Hurricanes enter the non-league contest with a 2-1 record. In their last contest, Jasper County nudged Mary Persons (Forsyth, GA), 3-1, in a non-league contest.
The Gladiators now hold a 2-1 record. They play next when they host Heritage for a non-league contest on Friday, August 15. Clarke Central will battle a Patriots team coming off a 17-15 league win over South Gwinnett (Snellville, GA). The Patriots record now stands at 1-2.
