In Wednesday's non-league outing, the visiting Pender Patriots soccer squad scored a tight 6-1 win over the Lakewood Leopards.

The Patriots (1-0) will now prepare for their outing against Union (Rose Hill, NC). The Spartans enter the non-league outing with a 0-1 record. In their last outing, Union was overwhelmed by Heide Trask (Rocky Point, NC), 4-3, in a non-league outing.

Next up, the Leopards confront the East Columbus Gators (Lake Waccamaw, NC) in a non-league outing, on Monday, August 19. Lakewood will attempt to improve on its 1-1 season record. The Gators enter the outing with a 0-1 record after their 7-0 non-league loss to Lakewood (Roseboro, NC).
