Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Middle Creek Mustangs (Apex, NC) and the host Fuquay - Varina Bengals (Fuquay-Varina, NC), observed Middle Creek's volleyball team top Fuquay - Varina by a count of 3-0.

The Mustangs (2-1) will now prepare for their contest against Apex Friendship (Apex, NC). The Patriots enter the non-league contest with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, Apex Friendship dropped by Seaforth (Pittsboro, NC), 3-1, in a non-league battle.

The Bengals now own a 0-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Apex for a non-league battle on Monday, August 18. Fuquay - Varina will encounter a Cougars squad coming off a 3-2 non-league win over Holly Springs (Holly Springs, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 2-0.
