In Thursday's league challenge, the host Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons volleyball team scored a 3-0 victory over the Sugar Creek Charter Wildcats.

The Gryphons (1-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Bethel Christian Academy (Spruce Pine, NC). The Crusaders enter the non-league challenge with a 0-0 record.

In their next game, the Wildcats face the Mountain Island Charter Raptors (Mt. Holly, NC) in a Catawba River 1A/2A/3A test, on Tuesday, August 19. Sugar Creek Charter will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record. The Raptors go into the test with a 2-1 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Lincoln Charter (Denver, NC).
