Cypress Lakes Spartans (Katy, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they witnessed their volleyball team tip the host Cypress Falls Eagles (Houston, TX), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans (2-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Grand Oaks (Spring, TX). The Grizzlies come into the non-league challenge with a 0-2 record. In their last challenge, Grand Oaks was nudged by Tomball (Tomball, TX), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Eagles meet the North Shore Mustangs (Houston, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, August 19. Cypress Falls will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 1-1 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to Fort Bend Hightower (Missouri City, TX).
