Coosa Eagles (Rome, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Gordon Central Warriors (Calhoun, GA), 8-0 in a league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Fannin County for a AA Region 7 challenge on Thursday, August 19. Coosa will face a Rebels squad coming off a 12-4 non-league win over Towns County (Hiawassee, GA). The Rebels record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Gordon Central falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Warriors host Chattooga (Summerville, GA) to face the Indians in a AA Region 7 challenge on Thursday, August 19. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 5-0. Chattooga won 15-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Southeast Whitfield County (Dalton, GA)
