Jones County Greyhounds (Gray, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Academy for Classical Education Gryphons (Macon, GA), 13-12 in a non-league challenge.

The Greyhounds now own a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Eagle's Landing for a 5A Region 2 challenge on Thursday, August 17. Jones County will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 19-3 non-league loss to Spalding (Griffin, GA). The Eagles record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, Academy for Classical Education falls to 3-2 on the campaign. The Gryphons travel to Mary Persons (Forsyth, GA) to battle the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Thursday, August 17. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 1-2. Mary Persons lost 5-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Union Grove (McDonough, GA)
