With the win, Fort Elliott upgrades its record to 5-1 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Borger (Borger, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Saturday, August 16. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 2-3. Borger lost 2-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Henrietta (Henrietta, TX)

Next, the Longhorns play the Lubbock Westerners (Lubbock, TX) in a 5A Region I District 3 challenge, on Tuesday, August 19. Caprock will attempt to advance on its 2-2 season record. The Westerners go into the test with a 1-4 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Bridgeport (Bridgeport, TX).
