With the win, Loyd Star improves its record to 2-3 on the season. The Hornets host Crystal Springs (Crystal Springs, MS) to encounter the Tigers in a non-league battle on Monday, August 18. The Tigers go into the battle with a record of 0-2.

The Cobras now own a 4-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to West Marion for a non-league challenge on Saturday, August 16. Wesson will meet a Trojans team coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Sacred Heart (Hattiesburg, MS). The Trojans record now stands at 6-1.
