St. John XXIII Lions (Katy, TX) boosters left the game thrilled Saturday as they observed their volleyball team hold off the host Sealy Tigers (Sealy, TX), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Lions (5-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Needville (Needville, TX). The Bluejays enter the non-league challenge with a 10-2 record.

Next, the Tigers meet the East Bernard Brahmas (East Bernard, TX) in a non-league test, on Tuesday, August 19. Sealy will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Brahmas come into the challenge with a 4-5 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to El Campo (El Campo, TX).
