The Chieftans now possess a 6-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Plains for a non-league game on Friday, August 18. Friona will meet a Cowboys team coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Tulia (Tulia, TX). The Cowboys record now stands at 0-6.

The Tornadoes (2-3) will now prepare for their game against Littlefield (Littlefield, TX). The Wildcats enter the non-league game with a 1-1 record. In their last game, Littlefield defeated Wellman-Union (Wellman, TX), 3-1, in a non-league game.
