The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC) and the host Hiwassee Dam Eagles (Murphy, NC), saw Swain County's volleyball squad beat Hiwassee Dam by a tally of 3-1.

With the win, Swain County upgrades its record to 2-0 on the year. The Maroon Devils host Smoky Mountain (Sylva, NC) to play the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Monday, August 21. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 2-0. Smoky Mountain won 3-2 in their recent non-league bout against Hayesville (Hayesville, NC)

The Eagles now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to Robbinsville for a non-league test on Monday, August 21. Hiwassee Dam will confront a Black Knights team coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Nantahala (Topton, NC). The Black Knights record now stands at 2-1.
