The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Lumpkin County Indians (Dahlonega, GA) and the visiting Lanier Longhorns (Sugar Hill, GA), observed Lumpkin County's softball team get by Lanier by a tally of 10-7.

The Indians (5-4) will now prepare for their bout against Dawson County (Dawsonville, GA). The Tigers go into the 3A Region 6 bout with a 5-5 record. In their last bout, Dawson County was routed by Pickens (Jasper, GA), 5-4, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Longhorns clash with the Milton Eagles (Milton, GA) in a 5A Region 7 bout, on Tuesday, August 20. Lanier will attempt to advance on its 4-6 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 4-3 record after their 6-3 non-league loss to North Gwinnett (Suwanee, GA).
