The Starkville Academy Volunteers soccer team scored 4 points and restricted the visiting Magnolia Heights Chiefs to 1 in the Volunteers league triumph on Thursday.
The Volunteers now hold a 1-1 record. They play next when they travel to Heritage Academy for a MAIS Division II East test on Tuesday, September 6.
With the loss, Magnolia Heights drops to 4-4 on the season. The Chiefs host Northpoint Christian (Southaven, MS) to meet the Trojans in a non-league test on Monday, August 22. The Trojans come into the test with a record of 3-1.
