The Shelby Golden Lions volleyball team (Shelby, NC), was nudged 2-1 in Thursday's non-league challenge with the visiting R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC)

The Hilltoppers (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against East Henderson (East Flat Rock, NC). The Eagles enter the non-league challenge with a 0-1 record. In their last challenge, East Henderson was nudged by Owen (Black Mountain, NC), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Golden Lions meet the Ashbrook Greenwave (Gastonia, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, August 22. Shelby will attempt to move on its 0-2 season record.
