McDonough Warhawks (McDonough, GA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Mt. Zion Bulldogs (Jonesboro, GA), 18-0 in a league challenge.

The Warhawks now sport a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Eagle's Landing for a non-league challenge on Friday, August 19. McDonough will face a Eagles squad coming off a 12-0 league loss to Jones County (Gray, GA). The Eagles record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, Mt. Zion falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Hampton (Hampton, GA) to face the Hornets in a 4A Region 5 challenge on Tuesday, August 23. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 4-2.
