In Monday's non-league outing, the host Alexander Central Cougars soccer squad scored a tight 4-1 victory over the Statesville Greyhounds.

The Cougars (2-1) will now prepare for their outing against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Huskies go into the non-league outing with a 1-0 record. In their last outing, Ashe County got by South Caldwell (Hudson, NC), 2-1, in a non-league outing.

Next up, the Greyhounds confront the St. Stephens Indians (Hickory, NC) in a non-league outing, on Thursday, August 21. Statesville will attempt to improve on its 1-1 season record. The Indians go into the outing with a 0-2 record after their 1-1 non-league Asheville Christian Academy (Swannanoa, NC).
