Fans at Monday's non-league contest between the Meridian Wildcats (Meridian, MS) and the visiting Kemper County Wildcats (DeKalb, MS), observed Meridian's volleyball team top Kemper County by a count of 3-0.

The Wildcats (5-2) will now prepare for their contest against Northwest Rankin (Brandon, MS). The Cougars enter the Class 7A Region 3 contest with a 6-3 record. In their last contest, Northwest Rankin notched a victory over Clinton (Clinton, MS), 3-0, in a non-league battle.

The Wildcats now own a 0-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host West Point for a non-league battle on Tuesday, August 19. Kemper County will encounter a Green Wave squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Lafayette (Oxford, MS). The Green Wave record now stands at 2-4.
