North Carolina High School Volleyball - Mitchell tips Unicoi County

August 18, 2025: Bakersville, NC 28705

Fans at Monday's non-league contest between the Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC) and the visiting Unicoi County Blue Devils (Erwin, TN), saw Mitchell's volleyball squad nudge Unicoi County by a score of 3-2.

With the win, Mitchell improves its record to 1-2 on the season. The Mountaineers host Erwin (Asheville, NC) to encounter the Warriors in a non-league battle on Thursday, August 21. The Warriors go into the battle with a record of 4-0. Erwin won 3-0 in their recent non-league battle against Tuscola (Waynesville, NC)

The Blue Devils now own a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they host Chuckey-Doak for a AA District 1 contest on Tuesday, August 19. Unicoi County will meet a Black Knights team coming off a 3-2 non-league loss to West Greene (Mosheim, TN). The Black Knights record now stands at 0-1.
