With the win, Avery County improves its record to 2-1 on the season. The Vikings travel to West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC) to meet the Blackhawks in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, August 20. The Blackhawks come into the challenge with a record of 1-1. West Wilkes won 2-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Avery County (Newland, NC)

Next, the Eagles meet the West Caldwell Warriors (Lenoir, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, August 21. Wilkes Central will attempt to upgrade on its 2-1 season record. The Warriors go into the test with a 1-3 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Freedom (Morganton, NC).
