North Wilkes Vikings (Hays, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they observed their volleyball team hold off the visiting Surry Central Golden Eagles (Dobson, NC), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Vikings (2-3) will now prepare for their challenge against East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC). The Cardinals enter the non-league challenge with a 0-1 record.

Next, the Golden Eagles meet the North Stokes Vikings (Danbury, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, August 20. Surry Central will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Vikings go into the test with a 1-1 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Alleghany (Sparta, NC).
