Fans at Tuesday's non-league contest between the Hayesville Yellowjackets (Hayesville, NC) and the visiting Smoky Mountain Mustangs (Sylva, NC), observed Hayesville's volleyball team top Smoky Mountain by a tally of 3-0.

The Yellowjackets (4-1) will now prepare for their contest against Hiwassee Dam (Murphy, NC). The Eagles enter the non-league contest with a 0-3 record. In their last contest, Hiwassee Dam was beaten by Rosman (Rosman, NC), 3-2, in a league contest.

Next, the Mustangs meet the Pisgah Bears (Canton, NC) in a Mountain Eight 4A/5A contest, on Thursday, August 21. Smoky Mountain will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record. The Bears enter the contest with a 3-1 record after their 3-2 non-league loss to T.C. Roberson (Asheville, NC).
