Mary Star of the Sea Stars (San Pedro, CA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the host St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Warriors (Downey, CA), 3-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Stars (3-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Banning (Wilmington, CA). The Pilots come into the non-league challenge with a 0-0 record.

Next, the Warriors meet the Triumph Charter Jaguars (Sylmar, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, August 21. St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 3-1 season record.
