Norfolk Panthers (Norfolk, NE) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Grand Island Islanders (Grand Island, NE), 8-3 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lincoln Northeast for a A District challenge on Tuesday, August 23. Norfolk will battle a Rockets squad coming off a 10-2 league loss to Fremont (Fremont, NE). The Rockets record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, Grand Island falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Islanders travel to Pius X (Lincoln, NE) to battle the Thunderbolts in a A District challenge on Sunday, August 21. The Thunderbolts enter the challenge with a record of 2-0. Pius X won 11-3 in their recent league challenge against Kearney (Kearney, NE)
