With the win, Pinole Valley upgrades its record to 1-0 on the year. The Spartans host Saint Mary's (Albany, CA) to play the Panthers in a non-league bout on Wednesday, August 23. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 0-2. Saint Mary's lost 2-0 in their recent non-league bout against Head-Royce (Oakland, CA)

The Dons now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to Salesian College Preparatory for a bout on Tuesday, September 5.
