The Martins Ferry Purple Riders volleyball team scored 3 points and limited the visiting Bridgeport Bulldogs to 0 in the Purple Riders non-league victory on Monday.

The Purple Riders now have a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host St. Clairsville for a Ohio Valley 4A game on Thursday, August 25.

The Bulldogs (0-1) will now prepare for their game against Beallsville (Beallsville, OH). The Blue Devils enter the non-league game with a 1-1 record. In their last game, Beallsville gained a win over Bishop Rosecrans (Zanesville, OH), 3-0, in a non-league game.
