The crowd at Tuesday's non-league bout between the Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA) and the visiting Heritage Pioneers (Lynchburg, VA), saw Nelson County's volleyball squad nip Heritage by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, Nelson County upgrades its record to 1-0 on the year. The Governors host Amherst County (Amherst, VA) to play the Lancers in a non-league bout on Thursday, August 24. The Lancers go into the bout with a record of 0-0.

The Pioneers now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to Halifax County for a non-league bout on Monday, August 28. Heritage will play a Comets squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Franklin County (Rocky Mount, VA). The Comets record now stands at 1-2.
